Clarence Street Bakehouse in Howrah
Clarence Street Bakehouse
Never had much luck at this place. Pies and sausage rolls etc all need a good taste tester! It seems that no flavour is put into these. Pies are like eating hot coloured porridge! I'm sorry but I hope someone from the bakery reads this and looks into it. So today I thought I'd give it another go as I want somewhere close to home that I can eat-in. After my previous dislikes to the pies etc I decided to get the egg sandwiches which we all know is the best! Had no flavour, lettuce wasn't crunchy-was just the old limp lettuce-no salt or pepper, curry, nothing. It had obviously been mixed with a binding agent so it was set like jelly maybe not the bakers fault as they were probably bought in by catering company but surely someone there in quality control should be tasting the food. I think with a bit of foresite this could become a very viable business. You will only get the locals once or twice and they will like me stop going there. It's my local area and I'd like to see you do well but I'm sitting here writing a review cause I feel a bit sick and very disappointed after today. A good cook really needs to taste there own food. P.s use a shaker to put cocoa on cappachino's as a teaspoon won't cut it!
