Dunsborough Florist in Dunsborough, Busselton

I would like to voice my experience with Dunsborough Florist over the weekend, to ensure other customers do not go through the same experience that my poor bride friend has just had to endure on her wedding day!
Initially the ladies at the florist were very accommodating, stating that they were able to provide all of my friends requests.
After agreeing to go ahead with Dunsborough Florist was when the problems began.

There were numerous phone calls & emails to try and confirm details, however they would take up to 3 weeks to respond to any kind of request.
The day before the wedding, the florist text the bride, only to tell her that she was not able to provide the main flower in her arrangements.
Obviously the day before the wedding, this is not ideal, and delivering this news in a text message is completely unprofessional.
The florist explained that due to unfavourable weather conditions, those flowers were not available.
We then asked if she was able to get them from elsewhere, as they were an important part of the theme. The florist explained that ‘we are in the country, and we are not able to get things that easy’.
This is not the right thing to say to a group of girls who live in small country towns, that make Dunsborough look like a bustling city!
We all came from towns of less than 700 people – and we receive a truck delivery of supplies from Perth daily…

The bride made a trip to the florist that day to pick some replacement flowers – which we were all hoping would be of a similar colour to the originally requested flower.
Unfortunately, this was not the case, and the bride was forced to choose something that she didn’t want.
The florist then had the audacity to ask for more money, as she had underestimated the amount of flowers she needed for table settings…
I find it difficult to believe that she didn’t offer a discount for not being able to provide what was originally promised.

Bridesmaid duties kicked in to full swing, and one of the girls made one phone call and we were able to secure 2 large bunches of long stem roses from Bunbury, and they were exactly the same as originally discussed with the florist.
They were packaged perfectly, and hand delivered into the florist within 2 hours of the visit into the shop.
Less than an hour later the bride received another text from the florist saying that the flowers were snapped through the stem, and it wouldn’t be difficult to use them.
Hand delivered less than an hour before, they were in perfect condition?

Whilst the flowers that were delivered on the morning of the wedding were beautiful, it was an awful experience dealing with the entire business.
They had no compassion or understanding for the situation they placed the bride in, no professionalism, and spoke to us like we were stupid ‘city folk’ who didn't understand what it was like to live ‘remote’ from a city – which was quite the contrary!
They single handily ruined the day before the wedding for the bride, and I would never recommend them to any bride seeking quality service. Dunsborough is a top quality wedding destination, and brides are prepared to pay top dollar for quality service. You cannot expect to charge this kind of money, and not provide the top quality service you are charging for.
