Motoring Choice in Punchbowl
Motoring Choice
I only wish I had gone and read reviews before purchasing from Motoring Choice. BEWARE! They will sell you a car and all the promises under the sun of how well the car works and how they have replaced parts for you.
I have no idea about cars and they completely took advantage of that.
Bought a car from them, put a $500 deposit and made the two hour drive back to pick up the car the following day. Steve told me that a new battery would be put in, oil change done and as it was unregistered and needed a blue slip so whatever stuff that goes with that obviously to make sure the car is road worthy. On my way home I realised what a terrible mistake I had just made. For starters, the headlights didn't work (so much for that whole roadworthy test) the transmission felt terrible and over revved and was super jerky. Finally got home and took it straight to a friend of mine who is a mechanic and boy was he shocked.
These guys spray painted rust, put rags over rust holes so I couldn't see it, the car had previously been in an accident and there was a lot of structural damage, the radiator was bent, air filter was not the correct one, power steering leaking, air con didn't work, oil was dirty (thanks for changing it like you said!), parking lights would not turn off and I had to disconnect the battery to turn them off, the spare tire was FLAT and there was a leak in the exhaust.
I wrote them a letter threatening to contact all necessary platforms to see that this wrong is undone and I get all of my money back and my father made a follow up call to make sure they had received my letter. They did and agreed to a full refund which I was very happy about. Although when I made the trip down at his organised time I was made to wait 3+ hours for him as he had "other appointments" but told me to meet him at 12pm. Then suggested he transfer the money via online banking and there was no way I was leaving the car there without my cash. So I waited for him and ended up seeing him at the dealership (funny I thought he had appointments) and was given more excuses like how the car was perfect when he looked at it after the mechanics (yeah right).
I did get my money back thank god but I am disgusted with this company and no amount of apologies and $100 fuel vouchers will ever stop me from warning people to stay away!
