Zamel's Highpoint
I was at Zamel's Highpoint at 1.10pm today, 6 March 2016 looking for baby jewellery for an upcoming birthday. When I walked in, one sales assistant was busy with a couple so I approached another sales assistant who was doing a stock take on some watches. She did not look up until I greeted her and asked if they had any baby jewellery. She asked me what I was looking for and I said, "baby jewellery". She said, "I know but what?" Then it struck me, "I said maybe a chain or bracelet". She wanted me to be specific. She asked me, "how much". I have never been asked these questions before looking at an item so I took a while and she immediately said, "budget". In response I answered, "around $100". Immediately the sales assisted responded "We don't have for that price" and continued with her work. I thanked her and walked out thinking that maybe they don't want my business. The way which I was answered to was not something I would put up with as a customer. In every jewellery shop that I have gone into, when I ask for a section on what I am looking for, I always get taken to that section and I choose accordingly to my budget. This is a jewellery shop and it is just like a retail shop - a customer has to see to choose. As a customer, I do spend above my budget if I feel it is worth doing so but in this case I had no visibility of the item except a very rude customer experience. Zamel's, please don't judge a customer based on their appearance because you don't know who you are dealing with. This is one very good example of such bad customer service! Maybe it would be worth using this example as a case study and improving on customer service by being trained in hiring skilled employees (it could even be the manager I had this experience with, I am not surprised!) And of course thank you in a way. I took my business elsewhere and spent more than $200 on something I thought was an excellent gift with quality gold and outstanding customer service. Note: the only reason I have given this one star is because I chose to walk into your shop. I have never been into Zamel's as this was my first and I can assure you that this will also be my last!
